Features and types
L'Arcolaio's collection of laundry fragrances and fabric fresheners is divided into three main types, each with a specific function for caring for fabrics at home.
Muhà concentrated laundry fragrances
Muhà concentrated laundry fragrances are available in 100 ml — ideal for those who want to change fragrance often or try a new one — and 400 ml for large families or frequent use. The paraben-free concentrated formula is compatible with all fabric types, from delicate items like silk and wool to cotton and linen. Add in the fabric softener compartment or in the drum during the final rinse, with a dosage of 10–20 ml per load depending on the desired intensity. The fragrance sets on the fibres during the rinse and lasts over time.
Muhà fabric spray fresheners
Muhà fabric sprays in 250 ml are the most immediate solution: spray from 20–30 cm away on curtains, cushions, sofas, bed linen and wardrobe items without needing to wash anything. The formula is designed not to stain or weigh down the fibres and dries quickly, leaving only the fragrance. They are particularly practical for freshening bed linen before going to bed or for keeping clothes fragrant between washes.
Interchem Italia Nefel concentrated deodorants
Interchem Italia Nefel concentrated deodorants in 480 ml are versatile products: used on fabrics, for room fragrance or diluted in water for cleaning surfaces. Two fragrances characterise this line: Blackberry Peony — with notes of fig, peach, blackcurrant, peony, rose, freesia and lily of the valley — and Red Water Lily — with red water lily, bergamot, sweet orange, jasmine, ylang ylang and iris. Both are concentrated formulas without colorants. In the same Nefel line you'll also find Silk Flowers soap for hands and face (480 ml, Ecolabel certification, pH 6, dermatologically tested) and Bergamot and Vervain shower gel for body and hair (480 ml, with vitamin E and glycerine), which allow you to coordinate personal fragrance with that of your fabrics.
In our selection we chose to pair the Muhà brand and the Nefel line by Interchem Italia precisely because they cover different needs: those looking for a fragrance that sets in the washing machine will find the Muhà concentrate, those who want a quick touch on curtains and sofas will prefer the spray, those seeking a multi-purpose product will opt for the Nefel deodorant.
How to choose the right fabric freshener
Based on main use
- For washing in the machine: choose the Muhà concentrated laundry fragrance, in the 100 ml version to test a new fragrance or in 400 ml if you use it daily.
- For furnishing fabrics that are not washed often (sofas, curtains, cushions): the 250 ml Muhà spray is the most convenient choice.
- To fragrance rooms, surfaces and fabrics with a single bottle: Interchem Italia Nefel 480 ml concentrated deodorants are the most versatile solution.
Based on fragrance
- Floral and spring notes: Carezza di Primavera, Violetta, Silk Flowers, Diamond. Marine and aquatic freshness:, Mare d'Inverno, Aria di Capri. Clean and talcum notes:, Talco e Muschio, Fiori di Cotone, Fresco Puro. Sweet and gourmand notes:, Dolce Coccola, Dolce Latte. Fitness Power, with a specific anti-odour molecule to neutralise perspiration odours.
Based on skin sensitivity
Muhà fabric fresheners are formulated without parabens. Interchem Italia Nefel products are dermatologically tested with gentle pH 6. For newborns or very sensitive skin, it is always advisable to reduce the dosage and choose delicate fragrances such as Fiori di Cotone o Lino e Cotone.

FAQ — Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between concentrated laundry fragrance and fabric spray?
Concentrated laundry fragrance is added during washing in the machine: the fragrance sets on the fibres during the rinse and lasts for weeks. Muhà fabric spray in 250 ml is sprayed directly onto already washed fabrics or on surfaces that cannot be washed often — sofas, curtains, cushions — offering immediate freshness but with a shorter duration compared to the concentrate.
How to choose between the 100 ml and 400 ml formats?
The 100 ml Muhà format guarantees approximately 6–10 uses with standard dosage: it's suitable for those who want to rotate fragrances or try one for the first time. The 400 ml format reaches approximately 25–40 uses and is convenient for large families or for those who have already found their preferred fragrance and use it regularly.
Can laundry fragrances stain fabrics?
Muhà and Interchem Italia Nefel fragrances are formulated not to stain if used correctly. For the concentrate it is important to add it during the rinse and not pour it directly onto dry fabrics. For the spray, spray from an adequate distance avoiding saturating the fabric. For silk, velvet or technical fabrics, always test on a hidden area before full use.
Which fragrance to choose for sports garments?
Fitness Power by Muhà is the only fragrance in the line formulated with a specific anti-odour molecule to neutralise perspiration odours. The notes of green apple, orange and raspberry with a floral heart and cedarwood base provide freshness suitable for technical clothing. Alternatively, Fresco Puro e Acqua Marina offer a clean freshness compatible with sports fabrics.
How to store bottles to keep the fragrance intact?
Store upright, well sealed, in a cool, dry place away from sources of heat and direct sunlight. Avoid temperature fluctuations which could alter the composition. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
