Features and types
LED technology and charging
The main feature of these lamps is LED technology combined with rechargeable lithium batteries. Charging systems include wireless contact bases, USB Type-C cables and multiple chargers. Colour temperature is adjustable between 2200K K (warm light, relaxing) and 4000K K (neutral light, more functional). The touch dimmer control allows you to vary the intensity over 3-4 levels by touching the top of the lamp: one or more touches to turn on, turn off and adjust the light.
Materials and finishes
The structures are made of powder-coated epoxy aluminium, metal, polycarbonate and blown glass. The finishes cover a wide palette: contemporary opaque colours such as white, black and grey, warm tones such as gold, bronze and corten, natural variants such as sage, dove grey and sand. Opaline polycarbonate diffusers guarantee uniform light distribution; pleated fabric lampshades, such as those of the EDG Enzo De Gasperi Lampada Plissè, create a softer and more decorative atmosphere.
Formats and sizes
The range spans from compact models — such as the EDG Lily (H 17.5 cm, D 11 cm) or the EDG Bubbles (H 11 cm) — to standard formats such as the Bizzotto Etna LED (H 38 cm), available in white, black, sage, brown, dove grey and bronze. The Lampada Diamante by L'Arcolaio (D 12 cm, H 25 cm) represents a decorative solution with compact footprint, also suitable as a gift. Those wishing to explore the full range of styles can visit the dedicated page on designer table lamps, where you will also find non-rechargeable models.
Models for outdoor and mixed use
Models with IP54 certification (protection against dust and splashes) or IP65 certification (total protection against dust and water jets) are designed to withstand external conditions. Bizzotto offers outdoor lamps with solar charging integrated with twilight sensors, suitable for terraces and gardens. Zafferano — a brand specialising in high-end portable LED lighting — is present with models such as the Zafferano Pina Pro White, wireless lamp H 29 cm with clean lines, available in matte white. For the complete Zafferano selection you can visit the section Zafferano lamp offers.
Luminous decorations and accessories
Alongside functional lamps, the selection includes luminous decorations — neon effect LED mirrors, plexiglass signs, chandelier luminaires — and accessories such as extendable microled chains. To complete an indoor or outdoor luminous display, you can pair these lamps with LED light chains or explore all the luminous decorations available at L'Arcolaio.
How to choose the right LED table lamp
For the bedside table or dining table at home: choose a model with fabric or blown glass lampshade and integrated dimmer. The EDG Plissè (H 22 cm, IP 20) in sand, water or hazelnut finishes adapt well to contemporary styles and come in gift packaging, also useful as a gift for someone.
For a terrace, garden or outdoor dining area: opt for models with IP54 or IP65 certification. The Bizzotto Etna LED (H 38 cm) with powder-coated aluminium body is designed precisely for this, available in warm finishes such as bronze and corten as well as neutral versions. If you want to learn more about the gold model, you can see the product sheet of the Bizzotto Lampada Etna LED gold.
For extended battery life: check the battery capacity (expressed in mAh) indicated in the product sheet. At minimum intensity some models exceed 30 hours of battery life; at maximum intensity battery life is significantly reduced.
As a gift: EDG Enzo De Gasperi models are offered in pre-wrapped gift boxes. The compact dimensions (17-22 cm) make them practical to carry and suitable for housewarming, birthdays or any occasion.
FAQ — Frequently asked questions about LED table lamps
What is the difference between IP54 and IP65 protection?
IP54 guarantees protection against dust and water splashes from any direction: it is sufficient for a covered terrace or outdoor dining area. IP65 adds complete protection against dust and direct water jets, making it more suitable for more intense external exposure.
How does the touch dimmer work?
Touch the top surface of the lamp: one touch turns it on or off, subsequent touches adjust the light intensity over 3 or 4 levels. Some models also allow you to vary the colour temperature of the light, from warmer to more neutral.
Do rechargeable lamps work while charging?
It depends on the model. Lamps with a wireless base generally do not work while charging. Models with USB cable can often be used when plugged in, operating as traditional lamps. Check the specifications in the individual product sheet.
How long does the battery last?
Battery life varies from 6 to 36 hours depending on the model and light intensity setting. At maximum power the duration is reduced; at minimum intensity some models exceed 50 hours. Full charging time is generally between 3 and 7 hours.
Can the battery be replaced when it runs out?
Mid-range and high-end models — such as Zafferano's — often have replaceable lithium batteries. More affordable models may have integrated batteries. Check the technical specifications in the product sheet before purchasing, especially if you plan intensive use over the long term.
Are blown glass lamps suitable for outdoor use?
Blown glass is more delicate than polycarbonate or metal. For outdoor use, especially in windy environments or places frequented by children, it is preferable to choose models in aluminium or polycarbonate with adequate IP certification.
