Classic Brenta Byò Square Flat Plate 20×20 cm
The only Brenta Byò format currently on sale at L'Arcolaio is the Classic Polpa Square Flat Plate 20×20 cm, box of 50 pieces (800 g). The material is polpa, a cellulose-derived material that is more rigid than traditional single-use plastic: the plate maintains its shape during serving even with wet foods and sauces.
The 20×20 cm format is an intermediate size that suits multiple courses: single-portion antipasti, main courses, desserts. The 50 units per box make it easy to calculate requirements based on the number of place settings.
For other formats in the Byò line — round plate, squares in other sizes, rectangular, glasses, finger food bowls — check availability directly in-store or contact us: out-of-stock formats can be restocked.
How to choose disposable tableware for an event
The choice of tableware depends mainly on the type of event and the course to be served. Some practical guidelines:
For a buffet with multiple courses — appetiser, main course, dessert — it is useful to provide several plates per guest: one for each course, or a large plate if the service is all-in-one.
For a cocktail or an aperitif with bites and finger food, smaller formats (bowls, 16×16 cm plates) are more functional. While waiting for restocking of those formats, the 20×20 cm remains a practical solution even for single-bite presentations.
For catering in a venue without a kitchen — marquee, garden, outdoor area — polpa single-use is a clear logistical choice: no tableware rental, no washing, easy stackability for transport.
For ceremonies managed independently — christenings, communions, graduation parties managed in-house — the calculation is straightforward: 50 pieces per box, two boxes for 100 place settings on a single course. Always keep an additional box in reserve.
When to use polpa single-use
Polpa single-use is recommended in at least three situations:
- Large numbers: receptions with tens or hundreds of place settings where collecting and washing tableware is not feasible.
- Spaces without industrial dishwashers: events in gardens, marquees or venues without facilities.
- Quick service and buffets: situations where speed of service and immediate disposal make a difference.
Polpa offers a neater appearance compared to classic single-use plastic, and handles sauced foods and condiments well without deforming during service.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Brenta Byò 20×20 cm plate suitable for hot foods?
The polpa plate handles hot foods for the duration of a standard service. It is not designed for microwave or oven. For very hot and liquid foods such as soups and broths, it is preferable to pair it with a high-sided container.
How many plates do I need for an event with 100 people?
With boxes of 50 pieces, two boxes cover 100 place settings for a single course. If the event includes multiple courses, multiply by the number of plates per guest. Always keep an extra box in reserve.
