Dar D.O.O. Koper

Features and types

The material: polypropylene (PPL)

Dar D.O.O. Koper ribbon spools are made of polypropylene, a lightweight plastic film that is resistant to handling. PPL is the standard material for professional packaging rolls: it holds the bow well, cuts cleanly and does not crease during wrapping. It differs from traditional coated paper: more resistant to moisture and with a surface that slightly reflects light, ideal for a refined wrapping effect.

Available models

In this collection you'll find five spools, all in the 1 roll format:

• Riso Spool – Pink PPL, 1 × 40 m. The longest format in the selection, suitable for intensive use, for example near a ceremony with many parcels to prepare.
• Limoncello Spool – Yellow PPL, 1 × 25 m. Yellow is a classic colour for spring ceremonies, from christenings to May communions.
• Satinata Spool – Light blue PPL, 1 × 25 m. Satin finish, pastel tone. It pairs well with light blue confetti for christenings or with ceremony ribbons in white and silver.
• Hydra Spool – Pink and green PPL, 1 × 25 m. The two-tone design makes it versatile for more vibrant parcels, also suitable for birthday gifts or party favours.
• Velo Spool – Dove grey PPL, 1 × 25 m. Dove grey is an elegant neutral, very popular for minimal or country chic weddings. It pairs with ivory-coloured ribbons and white confetti.

Dimensions and yield

The 25 m rolls cover a considerable number of medium-sized parcels (depending on the package size), while the 40 m format of the Riso Spool is designed for those with higher volumes to manage. The rolls are used on standard ribbon dispensers that mount on table or wall.

How to choose the right spool

Based on the occasion

• Christening: the light blue of the Satinata or the pink of the Riso and Hydra are the most traditional colours. Pair them with a coordinating satin ribbon.
• Communion and confirmation: white and yellow Limoncello work well for May ceremonies. The dove grey of the Velo is suitable for a more understated and contemporary style.
• Wedding: the dove grey Velo is the most fitting choice with the neutral tones of 2026 weddings. It blends in with table plans and place cards in ivory and sand shades.
• Christmas gifts and general gift wrapping: the pink-green Hydra or yellow Limoncello add colour without overpowering the packaging.

Based on quantity

If you need to wrap a large number of bonbonnieres or gifts in a single session, the 40 m format (Riso Spool) reduces interruptions to replace the roll. For domestic use or small ceremonies, 25 m rolls are sufficient and easier to store.

Based on finish

The satin PPL of the Satinata Spool has a slightly more refined appearance than standard PPL. The Velo Spool has a thinner, lighter texture — the name perfectly describes the final effect on the parcel.

FAQ

What is PPL in gift wrap?

PPL stands for polypropylene. It's a thin plastic film, widely used in professional packaging spools. Compared to traditional paper, PPL is more resistant to tearing and moisture and is ideal for wrapping gift parcels or bonbonnieres neatly.

How many parcels does a 25 m roll cover?

It depends on the package size. For a small bonbonniere (such as a jar or sweet dish), with a tear of 30–40 cm you get approximately 60 to 80 parcels per roll. For larger packages the number decreases proportionally.

Are these rolls only for ceremonies?

No. Dar D.O.O. Koper PPL spools are suitable for any type of gift wrapping: Christmas, birthday, Easter. The colour range (pink, yellow, blue, dove grey, pink-green) covers both ceremony and festive palettes.

Where can I find coordinated ribbons and accessories?

On L'Arcolaio you'll also find ribbons, favour bags and other bonbonniere and gift wrapping accessories, which you can pair with Dar D.O.O. Koper spools to complete your display.
