Features and types

The Contital catalogue available on L'Arcolaio covers four areas: baking moulds, single-portion and multi-portion serving containers, disposable plates and accessories such as film and baking paper. All products are made of food-grade aluminium.

Baking moulds and muffin cases

I C1G muffin cases in aluminium are available in packs of 100 pieces. The C1G format is the standard size for muffins and cupcakes: the ridged edges hold the batter shape during baking and make it easier to remove the cake. They are rigid enough to stand on their own in the oven without an external mould; for very liquid batters, it is recommended to place them on a flat baking tray. They are used directly as a serving case, without transferring the cake.

The 238 × 101 mm H 50 mm loaf container, sold in packs of 100 pieces, is the classic rectangular mould for whole loaves made with 500–600 g of batter. It goes straight into the oven, is sliced and served in the same mould, or can be packaged as a gift cake.

The aluminium round cake tin D 240 mm H 40 mm is the round mould for traditional cakes for 8–10 slices.

Single-portion and multi-portion containers

For those who prepare and serve in quantity, Contital offers rectangular containers in multiple formats, all in stock:

  • 1 portion — 145 × 120 mm H 40 mm, pack of 100 pieces: individual tray for first courses, main courses or single-portion desserts.
  • 4 portions — R29L, 225 × 175 mm, pack of 100 pieces.
  • 6 portions — R2L, 318 × 214 mm, pack of 50 pieces.
  • 8 portions — R31L, 322 × 262 mm, pack of 50 pieces.

These containers can be used directly in the oven and then brought to the table or transported without removing from the mould. Useful for family lunches, domestic catering and special occasions.

Disposable plates in white lacquered aluminium

I white lacquered flat plates D 218 mm and the white lacquered deep plates D 210 mm, both in packs of 25 pieces, are finished with white lacquer that makes them suitable for table presentation as well. Practical for parties, buffets, christenings and communions at home where you prefer to avoid washing up.

Film and baking paper

  • Film 300 mm 300 m — available in Nudo and Roll versions, for covering plates and containers.
  • Baking paper 400 mm 50 m — Nudo version, for lining trays and moulds.
  • Nudo aluminium foil roll 300 mm 100 m — for storage, covering and foil parcel cooking.
  • Pre-perforated square sheets 230 × 230 mm, pack of 25 pieces: ready for steam oven or grill cooking.

How to choose the right Contital container

For occasional use or for events?

If you use the moulds occasionally, the pack of 100 pieces remains cost-effective over time: it stores without problems. If instead you prepare cakes or dishes for a ceremony — a christening, a communion, a birthday party — having 100 cases or containers at hand is the most practical solution to make sure you don't run out during preparation.

Cakes to serve or cakes to gift?

C1G muffin cases and the 238 × 101 mm loaf container are both suitable for gift cakes: the aluminium mould already serves as packaging. Paired with a ribbon, they become a well-presented homemade gift. If you wish to accompany the cakes with ceremonial items — confetti or bomboniere containers — on L'Arcolaio you will also find a selection of glass bomboniere and containers for weddings, christenings and communions.

Traditional or fan-assisted oven?

All Contital aluminium containers and moulds are suitable for traditional and fan-assisted ovens. They should not be used in the microwave. For steam cooking or grill cooking, the pre-perforated 230 × 230 mm square sheets are the right tool.

How much space do you need to cover?

Contital multi-portion containers have precise dimensions that make planning easy:

  • For single portions: 145 × 120 mm H 40 mm (100 pcs).
  • For 4-person portions: R29L 225 × 175 mm (100 pcs).
  • For 6-person portions: R2L 318 × 214 mm (50 pcs).
  • For 8-person portions: R31L 322 × 262 mm (50 pcs).

All withstand oven temperatures and maintain their shape during transport without deforming.

Matching accessories

For those who use Contital regularly in the kitchen, the 100 m aluminium roll and 300 m film are standard stock: they cover trays, wrap leftovers and protect containers during transport. The baking paper roll 400 mm × 50 m is convenient for those who often fill moulds without wanting to cut sheets each time.

For kitchen and storage accessories, also check out OXO Good Gripstools, useful for measuring, portioning and serving precisely. If instead you are organising a buffet in the garden or under an outdoor structure, you will find solutions for set-up in the sun loungers and deck chairs section and among the outdoor tables.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about Contital containers

Do Contital containers go in the oven?

Yes. Contital aluminium containers, moulds, cases and cake tins are suitable for traditional and fan-assisted ovens. They are not compatible with microwaves: aluminium cannot be used for this type of cooking.

How many pieces do Contital packages contain?

It depends on the product. C1G muffin cases, the single-portion container and 4-portion formats come in packs of 100 pieces. 6-portion containers (50 pcs) and 8-portion containers (50 pcs) have smaller packs. Lacquered disposable plates and pre-perforated sheets come in packs of 25 pieces.

Can I use Contital muffin cases without an external rigid mould?

C1G aluminium cases have a structure rigid enough to stand on their own in the oven. For very liquid batters, it is recommended to place them on a flat baking tray for more even baking, but an external rigid mould is not required.

What is the size of the Contital loaf container?

The loaf container measures 238 × 101 mm with a height of 50 mm. It is the standard size for a loaf made with approximately 500–600 g of batter, compatible with most classic recipes.

Where can I order Contital products and have them delivered home?

L'Arcolaio ships throughout Italy and to 21 European countries. It is also possible to collect your order directly at the Pignataro Interamna (FR) store, open Monday–Saturday 8:30–19:00 and Sunday 10:00–19:00, a few minutes from Cassino motorway exit on the A1 motorway.
