The POP system: how it works

The name POP describes exactly the lid mechanism: press the central button and the lid lifts by releasing the airtight seal. A second press closes it again. No screws, no side hooks — just one finger.

This detail makes the difference in the kitchen when your hands are busy or you're pouring an ingredient with the other hand. The seal is integrated into the lid: it keeps the container airtight until you choose to open it. All products in the range are classified as BPA Free.

Shapes and capacities: available products

Are OXO Good Grips POP containers airtight?

Yes. The central button creates an airtight seal when pressed to close: the seal integrated into the lid seals the container and keeps dry ingredients fresh, also protecting against odours. To open, just press a second time.

Can OXO POP lids be washed in the dishwasher?

Lids with the POP mechanism should not go in the dishwasher: prolonged contact with hot water can compromise the seal and button operation. The containers (the lower part without the lid) can be washed in the dishwasher instead. We recommend checking the specific instructions on each product.

Can I stack containers of different sizes?

Square containers from the Good Grips POP line stack well with each other within the same family. Rectangular ones line up horizontally but don't stack with squares, because of the different base.
